Yacht Racing on TV

We are more than half way through our launch pilot project of promoting sailboat racing through nine local events in the Pacific Northwest. We have four events behind us and five ahead, and we will be ending our “trial” with the 2025 J/70 US National Championships Mixed Plus in mid June. We are learning volumes, and are having enough fun that we are jumping in to expand our coverage include: 1) worldwide events that local sailors are competing in, and 2) worldwide events that local sailors would like to watch on TV.

Local Sailors Compete in Worldwide Events

Tasar World Championships

Six Seattle teams recently loaded up a shipping container full of boats and equipment and are heading to Lake Garda in Italy in July.

RS Aero World Championships

After dominating the RS Aero North American Championships last summer in San Francisco, expectations are high for this year’s Worlds in France.

Worldwide Events PNW Sailors Should Watch

TV coverage of sailboat racing is getting more professional and fun to watch. SailGP are in their own category as they have changed just about everything in our sport in order to make it more fun to watch. The races are close to shore, only last 15 minutes, and are filmed by helicopters, specialized camera boats, and the commentators are very enthusiastic. It is a circus, but it is almost impossible not to watch! The next SailGP event is in New York City on June 7-8. While we are waiting, last week, there were two traditional sailboat racing events with expert live coverage. We have launched our Watch page to make it easy to find and watch this content. The livestreams are as long as a day on the water, so with our watch page, you can both find out about good content and also get links right to the best part of the action.

Spend 15 minutes and watch some awesome sailing, with our help you will not have to spend any of those minutes trying to find the good stuff.

52 Super Series

Due to some no wind days, there was only racing on two of the five days in St-Tropez. The four races they did have were spectacular and the video production and commentary are excellent.

Check it out here.

Congressional Cup

The crimson blazer has been awarded and the fight went to the full 5 races of the final series. While the racing was terrific all week, we have linked to each of the five races in the final series. If you are interested in match racing at all, this is a great opportunity to learn from the very best.

Check it out here.

We will continue to monitor the universe for great yacht racing content for you to watch, and will regularly update our watch page.
