5/21/2025: Northerly, 6-10, 22 boats
It was the first night of the Solstice Series:
Keith Whittemore (USA1324): 1, 4, 1 = 6 pts
Ron Rosenberg (USA60): 4, 1, 3 = 8 pts
Dalton Bergan (USA486): 6, 3, 2 = 11 pts
Brian Thomas (USA325): 3, 2, 6 = 11 pts
Libby Johnson McKee (USA1032): 8, 7, 5 = 20 pts
5/21/2025: Keith Whittemore had the best night as the Solstice Series got underway.
5/28/2025
85 degrees and 6-10 out of the south. And the breeze held up for 3 races. 25 boats. At least 5 boats arrived at the first weather mark at the same time every race. Place changes F1 could only dream of. We don’t need no DRS in yacht racing!
Keith Whittemore won the night, for the second Wednesday in a row:
Keith Whittemore (USA1324): 1, 4, 2 = 7 pts
Dalton Bergan (USA486): 6, 2, 1 = 9 pts
Libby Johnson McKee (USA1032): 4, 7, 3 = 14 pts
Andrew Loe (USA 85): 7, 3, 4 = 14 pts
Ron Rosenberg (USA60): 3,1,12 = 16 pts
Series Standings as of 5/28/025 (without a throw out, because I’m not sure how CYC is doing the throw outs)
Keith Whittemore (USA1324): 13 pts
Dalton Bergan (USA486): 20 pts
Ron Rosenberg (USA60): 24 pts
Kevin Downey (USA 325): 32 pts (Brian Thomas sailed Kevin’s boat for the first week, Kevin back a the helm on 5/28)
Libby Johnson McKee (USA1032): 34 pts
6/4/2025
Super light southerly and the land never warmed up enough to bring in the breeze from the north. The RC ran a bunch of practice starts and did eventually get one race off. It was a patchy affair with a few park ups.
Laffittes (FRA 1089)
Pat Dore (USA 607)
Dalton Bergan (USA 486)
Kevin Downey (USA 325)
Loomis Heston (USA 1023)
Only 15 boats finished, but more were out and I suspect several gave up the drifting before the end.
Series Standings with 1 throw out as of 6/4/2025
Keith Whittemore (USA 1324): 13 pts
Dalton Bergan (USA 486): 17 pts
Kevin Downey (USA325): 23 pts
Ron Rosenberg (USA 60): 23 pts
Laffittes (FRA 1089): 34 pts
9 days until the big J/70 event of the summer: The 2025 US Nationals Mixed Plus.

6/11/2025
We had a handful of boats our practicing on the Sound tonight and 22 boats on the Lake.
Series Standings now include 2 throw outs
Keith Whittemore (USA 1324): 15 pts
Tolga Cezik/Ron Rosenberg (USA 60): 19 pts
Kevin Downey (USA325): 38 pts
Laffittes (FRA 1089): 40 pts
Dalton Bergan (USA 486): 45 pts
Cezik/Rosenberg had the best night with 1, 2, and 4. Next was Keith Whittemore with 7, 1, 1.
6/18/2025
Looks like there were 23 boats out last night for three races. I think the Solstice Series has one more week to go and with 2 throw outs I calculate the leaders as:
Keith Whittemore: 24 pts
Dalton Bergan: 50 pts
Kevin Downey: 58 pts
Tolga Cezik/Ron Rosenberg: 66 pts
Loomis Heston: 81 pts.
Top three for last night were:
Dalton Bergan with 3, 1, 1
Keith Whittemore with 1, 2, 6
Libby Johnson McKee with 2, 7, 2
The results page can be a bit confusing, but I am guessing that last night was Sol11, Sol12, and Sol13.
6/25/2025
For the final Wed of the Solstice Series, CYC got two races off before the BBQ. These are listed in the results at Sol15 and Sol16
Top 5 for the series (now with 3 throw outs) are:
Keith Whittemore: 30 pts (I am guessing they are using the count back method for tiebreaks, Keith had 6 firsts, and Dalton had 5)
Dalton Bergan: 30 pts
Tolga Cezik/Ron Rosenberg: 54 pts
Kevin Downey: 60 pts
Libby Johnson McKee: 79 pts
Top three for last night were:
Dalton Bergan: 1, 1
Scott Milne: 5, 2
Tolga Cezik/Ron Rosenberg: 7, 4
