4/16/2025: Beautiful night with sun AND breeze! 21 boats, Matt Laffitte won both races, followed by Andrew Lowe, and Keith Hammer.
4/23/2025: 26 boats on the line, and the Laffitte’s on ‘Lift Ticket’ maintained their dominance adding a 3 and a 1 to extend their lead. Tolga Cezik and his team ‘Poyraz’ moved into 2nd place with a 2nd and a 10th, and Adam Didomizio on ‘Medium Rare’ took over the 3rd position with a 5th and a 4th.
Just back from Cascais, Mike Goldfarb won the first race with Libby Johnson McKee in second and the Laffitte’s in third. It was classic Lake Washington with 8 to 12 out of the north.
After a dreary Seattle winter, it is hard to say that anything could top an evening of competitive starts and tight mark roundings, but the bar karate in the debrief afterwards might have been the best part.
4/30/2025: I hope Ron was able to run the slow motion starting practice. Otherwise, no results probably means there was no racing last night. See you this weekend for Sloop Tavern Yacht Club’s Race to the Straits.
5/7/2025: Three races in puffy unstable southwesterly breeze and just a sprinkle of rain made for an exciting night for the 23 J/70s that made it out last night. Mike Goldfarb on ‘War Canoe’ topped the night with a 1, 3, 1, followed by the Laffittes on ‘Lift Ticket’ and the Bergans on ‘Mossy’. ‘Lift Ticket’ has a comfortable lead for the series with 10 points and throwing out a 4th! Second overall is Libby Johnson McKee on ‘BammBamm’ with 21 points, and Tolga Cezik on ‘Poyraz’ with 24. Next week is the last Wednesday of the Spring Series. And there are only 5 weeks left for the teams to practice before the CYC US Nationals Mixed Plus.
