Quick recap of the first half: VanIsle 360: Fun or Serious
Below you will find the final part of the liveblog, for earlier parts:

LIveblog Part 2: Port Hardy to Ucluelet
June 11: Ucluelet to Victoria: 99 NM, 0900 Start
0840: The boats are in the starting area and ready for the 0900 start.
To follow the race on the tracker: here is the link.
1230: The boats are bouncing off of Barkley Sound and heading towards the entrance to the Strait. The current is switching to flood, mostly swirling right now. The Neah Bay Buoy is reporting SSW 14 knots.
1415: 1/3rd of the way there. Up until just a few minutes ago, the three 52s were in a tight pack, but ‘Smoke’ just broke out towards the Canadian shore. ‘Free Bowl of Soup’ making a break in the other direction.
1515: The split continues, or even grows! ‘Free Bowl of Soup’, ‘Time Bandit’ and ‘Ripple’ are heading south while ‘Smoke’, ‘The Shadow II’, and ‘Mist’ play the Canadian shore. Serious leverage building up here.
2130: The big boats have finished, ‘The Shadow II’ at 2025, then ‘Smoke’, then ‘Mist’, and then ‘Dark Star’ at 2104. ‘Hamachi’ is past Race Rocks and ‘Joy Ride’ and ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Free Bowl of Soup’ will be there shortly.
Terrific update from Marcus on Spyhop with some pictures here.
June 12: Layday in Victoria
There was a big skippers meeting at 1600 this afternoon to discuss the many protests over the scoring. As soon as I see the post from the organizers capturing the outcome of the meeting, I will post a link here. The results are up here. It does seem possible these results will be recalculated again, so don’t get too excited if your team is in the lead.
Great pictures here of the end of the last leg and Victoria harbor from Marcus Reichert.
And these just in from Suzanne Travis and Christina Travis on ‘Smoke’. Thank you both!
June 13: Last leg to Nanaimo, Start at 1100
No LiveBlog on this one because I am sailing tomorrow. So you are going to have to watch the tracker without me. This is often one of the more interesting legs because the boats have to pick their way through the islands and the weather can be quite different from one side of an island to another.
June 14: The finish has finished!
0730 Update
It looks like ‘Smoke’ was first across the line last night (6/13) at 19:17.
From the tracker it appears that ‘Joy Ride’ lead a total of five boats through Active Pass and up the outside of Galiano Island, everyone else went on the inside and then through Porlier Pass to the Straits of Georgia.
2000 Update
Div 0: Dark Star: 22 pts
Div 1: Phoenix: 24 pts
Div 2: Joy Ride: 17 pts (winning a tie breaker with Setri)
Div 3: The Kodiak Express: 22 pts
